Ubuntu Matrix homeserver: Go Live
Mauro Gaspari reminds us the testing phase of Ubuntu Matrix will remain "until the release of Ubuntu 24.04". We are then told the Ubuntu Matrix homeserver has reached a state considered "live", and that server will remain after release of Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. A list of features and milestones are provided (some with links for more details), as well as thank you's, and details on how we can get involved.

Anbox Cloud 1.21.0 has been released
Keirthana T S on behalf of the Anbox Cloud team reports the release of Anbox Cloud 1.21.0. We're given a link to view the component versions in this release, as well as a summary of the features/improvements included. Along with numerous links for more details, we're also told of some removed functionality, a known issue, plus bug fixes, before given links to the upgrade instructions.

UBports Foundation Releases Ubuntu Touch OTA-1 Focal Update: A Major Milestone
Aqsa Younas Rana writes that the OTA-1 Focal Ubuntu Touch OTA-1 update is out for Lomiri users. We're told this is a "significant milestone", which is available for selected devices which include the Fairphone 4 and Google Pixel 3a. Along with a short description of improvements, we're told of the bug fixes found in this release.

Critical Linux Kernel Vulnerabilities Discovered: Patches Released

Marius Nestor tells us that UBports is switching to a fixed-release model for Ubuntu Touch OTA updates. We're told of some of the problems UBports has had with the prior release strategy, with the new fixed-release strategy applying when Ubuntu Touch is re-based on the upcoming Ubuntu 24.04 LTS release.

RADV Driver Fixes Mesh Shader Support For AMD Phoenix APUs
Michael Larabel tells us about fixes from Valve's Linux graphics team. We're told in what cases the fixes will be noticed, including a screenshot of a before-image showing missing textures, as well as some details on the fixes. Finally we're told the change was merged for Mesa 24.1-devel, but will soon be backported to the Mesa 24.0 stable series.

Ubuntu 24.04 Desktop Installer Changes [First Look]
Joey Sneddon updates us on changes made in the ubuntu-desktop-installer that will be used with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Desktop installs. Highlighting some features only available before on Server installs, we're updated on how the 'provisioning' may be useful for desktop installs. Whilst Joey notes not all features will make it into 24.04, a visual update will, with Joey showing us how the current daily looks.
